横木富三郎に贈った『家族のためのアンデルセン』

松江時代の生徒、横木富三郎（1874―91）は17歳で夭逝した。第4学年進級時に主席となった横木に、八雲は敬愛するアンデルセンの書籍『家族のためのアンデルセン』を「英語教師、ラフカディオ・ハーンより」とサインをして贈った。

Anderson's Stories for the Household presented to Yokogi Tomisaburo

Yokogi Tomisaburo (1874–91), Hearn’s student from his Matsue days, died when he was only seventeen. When Yokogi became the head of the class in his fourth year, Hearn gave him a signed copy of Anderson’s Stories for the Household.
